Drew's latest school project was making a worm farm. He's been reading all about worms and really wanted to dig some earthworms for a worm farm display. Our rocky, dry soil and freezing nights were not conducive to digging, so I headed down to the sporting goods store for some bait worms, soil and sand to make our worm farm. After chugging the 2L of Root Beer, we made the worm farm Wednesday night. The kitchen was a mess, but it turned out well and they're still alive! His teacher didn't want him to leave it at school, so for now they're hanging out at our house. Anyone want some worms?
We found the directions on this site. They have great activities for school-aged kids and we'll be trying more of their projects during school breaks.
