V-Day Weekend

I had a fun weekend with the kids. Andy gets home from Vegas tonight. They surprised me with frozen meals yesterday for breakfast & lunch, then took me out for dinner at Applebees. We finished the evening with a movie at Mom & Dad's and lots of chocolate!

In between surprises, I had time to finish a couple of adorable handbags. The smaller one is from the "Debut" pattern - free at YCMT. Mom had requested a new bag in neutral colors and we found the fabrics at the thrift store. The bigger one is from the free "Angel" pattern from Lola found at: http://testerlola.blogspot.com/2008/04/angel-bag-tutorial.html. I super-sized it, since I wasn't sure how big it would be. I love a big purse with room for my wallet, planner, diapers, sippy cup...all the mommy things you need :) So, I added 2" to the width and 5" length to the handles and 1" where the handles attach to the main panel and it turned out the perfect mommy-purse size!

Yeah!! I love the "plus sized" Angel bag. What a su[er idea.
I originally made the bags the size thay are because they print out easily on regular paper.
I think I'll have to give it a try soon! Thanks for posting it.

SO cute! Yes, combining diaper bag and purse is always nice. This looks perfect. Good job!
